QR menus

Negro Blanco Software prepares QR menus for restaurants, cafes, bars and hotels. Guests scan the code on the table with their phone camera; the menu opens with no app download, on the business's own domain. Prices and items are updated from one place, and a change reaches every table at the same time. The person who prepares the menu also helps with later changes, so you talk directly to the person who writes the code.

What we do

  • A menu page with categories: item name, short description and price; optional item photos, ingredients and allergen information. On long menus, a category strip at the top lets guests jump quickly between categories.
  • Multilingual menu: besides Turkish, English, Russian, German or any other language you need; guests choose their language at the top of the menu. Translations can come from you or be added to the quote.
  • Updating prices and items: a simple editing screen you can use from your phone or computer; if you prefer, you send us the changes and we make them for you. An item that has run out can be hidden temporarily.
  • Print-ready QR codes: print-ready files for tables, doors and windows. The codes always go to the same address. A short line such as "Scan for the menu" and the menu's address are added next to the code; a guest whose camera does not read the code can type the address.
  • The business's own domain: the menu lives at your address, for example menu.yourbusiness.com; no other company's name or advertising appears.
  • Fast to open and easy to read: the page is kept light so it opens quickly even on a weak mobile connection; text size and color contrast are chosen to be easy to read in dim light.

Printed menus and price rules (Türkiye): In Türkiye, price display rules are set by the Ministry of Trade under the Price Tag Regulation: a price list must be at the entrance and on the tables, a QR code may be used on tables, and customers can still ask for a price list. We therefore recommend using the QR menu alongside the printed list, not instead of it, and keeping prices identical everywhere. Rules can change; check the Ministry's announcements. Details are in our QR menu guide (in Turkish).

Who it is for

  • Restaurants, cafes, bars and bakeries.
  • Hotels: restaurant, room service and poolside menus.
  • Beach clubs and food trucks: businesses whose menu changes often and whose printed menus wear out quickly.
  • Businesses in tourist areas that want to offer their menu in several languages.
  • Businesses with several branches that want to manage prices from one place.

How we work

  1. We receive the menu: you send your current menu as a photo, a PDF or an Excel file; categories and items are organized from it.
  2. Draft: the menu as it looks on a phone is prepared at a preview address; together we adjust the colors, fonts and logo to your business.
  3. Launch and QR codes: the menu goes live on your own domain and print-ready QR codes are delivered.
  4. Updates: you make price and item changes in the editing screen, or send them to us. Seasonal items or new categories can be added later.

What sets the price

  • The number of items and categories.
  • The number of languages and who provides the translations.
  • Whether item photos are ready, and if not, who provides them.
  • Whether you want an editing screen.
  • The number of branches, and whether prices differ between them.
  • Hosting and domain.

Domain and, where applicable, hosting fees are paid through accounts opened in your name and are separate from the setup fee. The quote is free; we send the scope, timeline and price in writing within 2 business days.

FAQ

Do guests need to download an app for a QR menu?

No. Pointing the phone camera at the code is enough; the menu opens in the browser. Guests are not asked to install an app, sign up or enter any information.

Can I change the prices myself?

Yes. When you change a price, an item or a description in the editing screen and save, it shows up in the menu. If you do not want an editing screen, you send us the changes and we make them.

How many languages can the menu have?

There is no limit on the number of languages; besides Turkish, you can add English, Russian, German or whichever languages you need. Guests choose their language at the top of the menu. Each language affects the price; you can provide the translations yourself or have them added to the quote.

Does the QR code change when the menu changes?

No. The code points to a fixed address; even when the menu content is updated, the address stays the same. So you do not need to reprint the codes.

Does a QR menu replace the printed menu?

Not entirely. In Türkiye, under the Price Tag Regulation, the price list must be at the entrance and on the tables. The list on the tables may be shown with a QR code, but a price list must still be provided if the customer asks. So we recommend using the QR menu alongside the printed list.
